KLES B.M. Kankanwadi Ayurved Mahavidyalaya Belgaum is recognized by Government of Karnataka. This is affiliated to RGUHS Karnataka, Bangalore and all the courses offered here are recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi. Sri Basappanna Mallappanna Kankanawadi who was a retired police officer and also a great philanthropist established this organization in the year 1933. With the intention developing Ayurveda he donated all his earnings of 50,000 rupees to the organization. Later in the year 1990 This Institute was taken over by KLE Society Belgaum which is one of the largest educational society in Asia. From the year 2005 the college is located in shahapur area of Belgaum city.
